History

The Valeriana Estate is a majestic villa set in an organic olive grove of 100 hectares, located in the foothills of the Sierra Subbética of Córdoba, Spain. It is a natural space where, with the utmost respect for the environment, olive trees are cultivated, some centuries old, to produce an extra virgin olive oil of the highest quality. The manor house is surrounded by impressive gardens and “patios” where you can enjoy the peace and quiet of the Mediterranean countryside. Thanks to its unique location it has spectacular views of the surroundings.

The Hacienda owes its name to its former owners, and illustrious family in the region, the Valera family. Standing out among them is Juan Valera Alcalá Galiano, a diplomat and famous writer of the 19th century. Up to this day there are still some old elements standing, like parts of the oil mill, dating back to the beginning of the 20th century. Nowadays, the house is used as a dwelling by its present owners and as the heart of the agricultural activity.
