The farm is situated on the verge of three municipal areas with a long tradition in the production of olive oil, such as Nueva Carteya, Cabra and Doña Mencía. Its privileged proximity to the Sierra Subbética ensures specific and favourable climate conditions for the growth of olives. The farm lies within the limits of the Protected Denomination of Origin of Baena, having been registered since 2012. That same year the farm obtained its certificate from the Andalusian Committee for Organic Agriculture. Recently, and thanks to the unwavering effort to preserve its wild habitats during these last few years, it added the BioSuisse Certification, a clear recognition to the rich biodiversity of The Valeriana Estate´s ecosystem.
Due to its situation and steep orography, the farm has exceptional climatic conditions, guaranteeing a more humid winter, with higher annual rainfalls, and cooler temperatures in summer. The limestone and rocky soils in combination with the presence of a great variety of olive tree species (picual, hojiblanco, picudo, pajarero and nevado azul) give the olive oil an altogether unique flavour and aroma.
